A few years back, my brother-in-law asked me to do tees and polos for his business. The plan was vinyl for tees and embroidery for polos. There were soooo many. I knew that I'd go nuts (nuttier?) if I had to weed all that vinyl. Hubby, not wanting to live with a nuttier version of me, bought me a Sawgrass 500 sublimation printer. I played with it using the heat press I had for vinyl and then made the mistake of going to Everything Embroidery Market in Chattanooga, TN where I met Nicky Adamkiewicz (who I c... [more]

Bags and Totes - however did I get there? I bought some material from a destash Facebook site (I didn't have a stash and kinda went overboard) and it was a couple of yards of contrasting pink teddy bear girly fabric. I ran across a YouTube video for a cute little bag with a drawstring top. I had a great time putting it together and use it for my notions when I attend crafty classes. I got a lot of complements and I was hooked (yes, I know, my ego!). I have several bag of the month subscriptions for more h... [more]

Hubby bought me a basic Singer from JoAnn’s years ago and I thought it could do everything I would ever need it to. Then I took a class and fell in love with the BabyLock Crescendo. Remember, I’m a tech and gadget girl so while the Singer absolutely could do it all – the bells and whistles of the Crescendo bedazzled me! I sew a bit of everything (or at least try to!). [more]

I went to a free demonstration for machine embroidery at my LQS and thought it was pretty cool. The a couple of friends talked me into taking a Kimberbell class. Then I had to have an embroidery machine. I bought a Brother PE770 from Ebay and that thing drove me crazy. A few more classes convinced me that I needed a BabyLock but it was August and they were launching new products so I couldn’t get the one I have been using for classes. So now I have a Meridian AND added a 16 needle Melco Bravo to the lin... [more]

One day I was perusing YouTube and came across The Posh Paper Lady and my love of paper crafting was born. A bonus is that I’m not limited to my craft room – I can craft while watching TV! I make a lot of individual cards and card sets. Some are simple and made in bulk and some are very intricate. Gift card holders and more are available too! [more]

Jan’s cousin Angie is an all-business woman Chief Operating Officer specializing in Econometrics (data analysis) by day but one of her hobbies by night is Fluid Art. She loves French Impressionism – Claude Monet is her favorite artist. A couple of years ago she was scrolling through Facebook late at night, as people do, and saw a demonstration of “Pour Painting” on canvas, now coined “Fluid Art.” Artists were literally pouring paint on canvas and creating abstract designs. She said, “I love ... [more]
