When I visited that “adult site” the other day (probably YouTube regarding a new sewing machine that I want), this dude got “control” of my computer. If I don’t send him bitcoin, he’ll send a video to everyone showing how I “fulfill” myself. I ain’t paying, so enjoy a video of me quilting, gardening and playing with my dogs! (Additionally, as an English major, the content really annoys me on that level). I have included the email below for your reading pleasure:

• Mama gave me some doilies that my grandma made waaaay back ago, so I decided to frame them: Hubby didn’t like the offset, so they are now centered and stacked.

• Baby the Biscuit’s quilt is coming along. Pics soon after I gift it.  Although she has already seen the blocks, I still have a few surprises under my needle. I much prefer piecing to quilting, but Hubby has been mentioning the lack of finished products. I’ve mostly been listening to Elton John Essentials while working on it.

• I thought my nirvana of sewing was a new rotary blade (a new one still makes me giddy!), but the be-all end-all is … pre-wound bobbins! Saves sew much time and even solved some problems I was having on my Brother PE770 embroidery machine.

• Here’s the beginnings of Sonshine’s quilt. The single block is “early morning star” and the 2 blocks are called “dancing diamonds” . I used 2” squares for the snowballs instead of 1½ because I have a 2” finished AccuQuilt die and didn’t want to hand cut 32 itty bitty squares.

• Sunshine is colorblind. I may, or I may not have, told him that I did this in yellow and orange colorways. You’ll notice that there is an error in the close-up pic of the DD block. He couldn’t find it, so it stays. I also sewed the one of the strips on the EEM block on the wrong side, so the blocks are offset which I actually like better.

• As I have said many times before, I’m not smart enough to know that I can’t do something, so I jump right in with both feet. I discovered that I wasn’t thrilled with the quilt as you go technique on Baby the Biscuit’s quilt but I think that might be because I did not leave enough on the bottom to flip over for the binding. For Sonshine’s quilt I think that I’m going to do it in panels so I’ll have the two blocks (repeated) mentioned above surrounding a slip knot block . I’ll maybe make 6 or 8 panels – however many I need to do a queen size quilt with some sashing in the middle. We’ll see how that comes out.

• Here is block 1 and block 2 combined and my Facebook commentary on joining these two.

• Bad news: have a bad migraine and cut while stoned so my squares were too big and look funky
  Good news: I was able to make them fit 
  Bad news: my block 2 was too small for block 1
  Good news: I added strips
  Bad news: they aren’t the same width
  More bad news: I was going to only have embroidery on diagonal corners but didn’t attach correctly so I will have to go back and embroider blank cream squares
  Even more bad news: my embroidery isn’t directionally correct 
  Good news: directional smectional
  Even more good news: my intended recipient will love it anyway
  Bad news: my head still hurts
  Question of the day – will whatever we are doing next week fit???

• Here is reason 497 why I need the Baby Lock Crescendo (no presser foot). Hubby says just press on the dog (which, in case you’re wondering, doesn’t work).

• We are flipping another house. I paint like I quilt – ALL IN!

• Gotta bowl this morn and then we’re going to the “Stranger Things” promotion at the Atlanta Braves game tonight. No time for Thailand shenanigans this time around.

• Sew on my friends!!!!
