Observations of the Day – January 28, 2018

Observations for today:

  • turning off the alarm and saying just one more minute is a sure fire way to miss church.
  • with this challenge and the encouragement of y’all ladies, I am confident that I can be a quilter.
  • with confidence comes challenges and challenges can make you withdraw your MENSA application.
  • don’t change from one pattern (that you’ve already bought fabric for) to another without checking the fabric requirements.
  • absolutely do not get overzealous and start cutting if you have done the above.
  • it is possible to make a dog blush.
  • always keep records of your fabric. My youngest daughter asked me to make her a quilt earlier this year. She wants red and gold so I found beautiful fabric (see above) and bought some fat quarters and yardage. I, in my fear of quilting, picked a super easy pattern – large block disappearing 9 patch – and then got diagnosed with breast cancer so it went on the back burner. Now, in my arrogance, I have picked a doable but more complex pattern. I have about half of the fabric that I need. If anyone recognizes the fabric below, please, please let me know.
  • you cannot rely on PayPal, credit card and bank statements to jog your memory.
  • Google images mocks me.
  • update on tonight’s dinner:
Hubby – tonight we’re having mediterranean chicken
Me – no we are not
    Hubby – why not?
    Me – because it’s Sunday
    Hubby – So?
Me – what do I do every Sunday night???
Hubby – Oh – I guess we’ll have it tomorrow night
(I bowl with my 81 year old mother and my brother on Sunday nights and it’s on our shared calendar. BTW – my mama has a higher average than me and my brother).
  • The above conversation indicates that he is planning on cooking tomorrow night – SCORE!!!!
