Observations for the Day:
– The pic is of Zeus (aka Puppylove) and Morpheus the Dog waiting patiently for me to pay the “ice tax”. It’s a requirement for getting ice from the fridge.
– I was going to chronicle my adventures with block 6 but Thursday was so long ago (as far as my memory goes anyway).
– PSA regarding the Sidewinder: hold on to your thread tightly when starting! I read the instructions, it seemed so simple. Put the thread spool on the spindle, go through the eyelet, around the thingy and pop your bobbin on the winder. Then press the start button. Not holding onto the thread tightly will result in it coming off the bobbin. That’s not the problem. The way the contraption stops is when the bobbin is full. No matter how much you panic and repeatedly push the button, the dadgum thing won’t turn off! It finally occurred to me to remove the batteries. Then I tried again. Dropped the thread. Rinse. Repeat.
– Have you ever removed a piece of your block to correct it only to discover that you were holding the row upside down to begin with? This results in having to fix the other side when I didn’t even have to fix anything in the first place. Then guess what? I sewed that piece on upside down. Lots of practice today.
– I have a shortage of electrical outlets in my sewing room. Today I was faced with a dilemma – music or light. My speaker was dying and I had my sewing machine, my iron and my lamp plugged in. Good thing my machine has a light on it.
– I dropped my first straight pin that I couldn’t find. Since I sew barefooted, let’s start a pool on when I will stick it in my foot.
– Excited to finish one of Amy’s block’s today, I started to take a picture and noticed a wonky square. Ripped, restitched, pressed, took pic and posted. Someone kindly pointed out that I had a wonky square. Why didn’t I see that???
– Hubby says, “You need to do laundry.” I reply, “You need to stop wearing so many clothes.”
– My son (who will be 25 in April) wanted me to name one of Amy’s blocks after him and his friend – you may have seen the “Hudzone Block” that I posted earlier. I sent him a pic of the completed block and he texted back “we’re gonna be famous”. He doesn’t know that it’s only y’all that reads this.
– I think of sew many things to share with you at night as I’m getting ready to sleep. Poof! Gone! Sigh.
